Incredible litter pickers join forces with council for HUGE clean up!
The Scunthorpe Litter Pickers have joined forces with North Lincolnshire Council for a huge local clean up.
The Scunthorpe Litter Pickers are a wonderful bunch of residents who share the same goal – keeping Scunthorpe clean!
Sitting at over 1,000 members, the group operate as a collective, conducting thorough ‘picks’ across the town.
As a result of their passion for our area, North Lincolnshire Council have recognised the litter pickers’ efforts and now offer supplies to members which allow them to continue their hard work!
Next week (Sunday 26 June), the Scunthorpe Litter Pickers and North Lincolnshire Council will band together for an amazing cause!
Jayne Clare, a regular, dedicated litter picker told Gi Scunthorpe News she was thrilled to be working with the council again, adding:
“The Scunthorpe Litter Pickers (SLP) are happy to be working with the council again to tidy our local neighbourhood”
The two will join forces on Frodingham Road and conduct a group pick of the surrounding area.
The SLP are also looking for new recruits to assist their mission and get the job done quicker.
“The more people we have the quicker we will get done”, Jayne said.
“If you’ve never joined a group pick before now is your chance to get involved, meet new people, and contribute to the community. You may also have a laugh” , she added.
Well done to everybody involved! Keep up the brilliant work.
