Trains between Lincoln and Grimsby suspended following incident

Trains running between Grimsby Town and Lincoln Central station by East Midlands Railway are temporarily suspended.

National Rail shared the news that the service will not be running until approximately 11:3o am this morning due to a tragedy on the lines.

According to the rail service, a person was sadly hit by a train this morning, and emergency services are currently attending the incident.

While this incident is underway, train lines are currently blocked meaning they are unable to run between Grimsby and Lincoln.

National Rail said: “A person has been hit by a train between Lincoln Central and Barnetby which means all lines are currently blocked. Whilst emergency services attend to the incident, trains are unable to run between Lincoln Central and Grimsby Town.

“Disruption is expected until 11:30.

“If you’ve been affected by what happened on the network today, there is always someone to talk to. You can contact the Samaritans on 116 123 from any phone for a confidential chat.”

They added that trains between Leicester and Grimsby Town may terminate or start back at Lincoln Central.

Customers may use alternative services to and from Newark or Doncaster and change for connecting services to and from Barnetby, Grimsby and Cleethorpes.
