Road closures planned for resurfacing works on Louth Road
On Monday 4 July, carriageway resurfacing and drainage works will be taking place on Louth Road, between Westkirke Avenue and the A16 Louth Road Roundabout.
Taking just under three weeks the work is due to be completed on Sunday 24 July.
The drainage works, including replacement of a number of gullies and channels, will be carried out under 24-hour temporary traffic signals from Monday 4 July and will be completed on Tuesday 19 July.
The carriageway resurfacing works will then start on Monday 18 July and will take seven nights to complete.
To allow the works to be carried out and ensure the safety of the contractors, an overnight closure will be in place each night, between 7pm and 6am.
Access will be maintained for affected residents as much as possible, but there may be short periods of time when this will not be possible. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained throughout the works.
The council added that efforts will be made to minimise disruption throughout the works, but some elements will be noisy.
During the works, on-street parking will be temporarily suspended and residents are asked not to park vehicles on the carriageway or footpath along Louth Road between Westkirke Avenue and the A16 Roundabout.
The work will be managed and overseen by EQUANS, with contractor EC Surfacing Ltd, carrying out the works.
The council, EQUANS, and EC Surfacing Ltd would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience and aim to have the works completed as quickly and safely as possible.
