By Scartho Top Aldi is now officially open!
This morning at 8am the brand new Aldi store located on Scartho Top officially opened, welcoming customers to their fresh, new premises.
The new store will be run by Store Manager Gary Archer, along with a team of 25 colleagues from the local community.
Aiming to help local communities across the UK, the new store will offer more customers access to Aldi’s “high-quality, low-price” products.
The company said that the new store will offer “fresh, British meat products with weekly offers, Aldi’s award-winning ‘Specially Selected’ range – which has been voted ‘Favourite Premium Supermarket Range’ by readers of Good Housekeeping magazine for the second year running – exclusive Beers, Wines and Spirits, and a ‘Food to Go’ section at the front of the store.”
Aldi’s special buys will also be available in the middle aisle every Thursday and Sunday, offering “extraordinary value” on a wide range of products, from electrical items to garden tools.
Gary Archer and his team were joined by Paralympic gold medallist Grace Clough, who cut the all-important ribbon on opening morning.
Grace also gave away complimentary bags of fresh fruit and vegetables to the first 30 customers in the queue.
Aldi Store Manager Gary Archer said: “We can’t wait to open the doors to the new store on Scartho Top, Grimsby. It’s set to be a special day and having Paralympic hero Grace Clough join us will make it a morning to remember.”
Paralympic rowing star Grace Clough added: “I’m so excited to be opening Aldi’s new store; it will be great to chat to customers and a lovely way for me to thank Aldi for its support of ParalympicsGB.”
The new Aldi store is calling on local charities and food banks in Grimsby to register with Neighbourly.
Local charities that register will be able to collect surplus food and perishable products, such as fruit, vegetables, and baked goods, up to seven days a week.
The new store is located on Matthew Telford Park, Scartho Top, Grimsby, DN33 3ER and will be open: Monday – Saturday: 08:00-22:00 Sunday 10:00-16:00
