How to celebrate the extended Jubilee weekend!

Kicking off the FOUR DAY WEEKEND, locals can attend an array of exciting and unique events to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Feeling patriotic? Beth Shepherd Studios are hosting workshops throughout Thursday 19 May and Friday 20 May, in the run-up to the Jubilee weekend.

Then on the Friday 3 June and Saturday 4 June, the Cleethorpes Cricket and Squash Club will transport us back to the ‘good ol’ days’, with an “old fashioned school sports day” themed event!

The cricket club will offer a range of sweet treats during afternoon tea and a tasty bake-off competition, as well as live music on the Saturday evening – topped off with a game of cricket against Barnsley Woolley Miners.

Park Ward Together are set to throw a very special celebration across People’s Park, open to anybody!

Those in attendance can expect a delightful picnic in the park, incredible live music, and even a children’s fancy dress competition!

The event will take place on day three of the extended Jubilee weekend – Saturday 4 June, 12pm.

Meanwhile, Centre 4 on Wootton Road, Grimsby, will be hosting a fabulous fun-filled day (Sunday 5 June, 12pm – 4pm) with entertainment, music, games, kid’s craft competitions, a spectacular bouncy castle, a raffle, and delicious food.

More planned events include:

Jubilee beacon lighting – Humberston Village Council Centenary Fayre, Grimsby (Thursday 2 June)

Sex Pistols Expose and The Clashed: Jubilee Gig – Docks Academy (Friday 3 June)

Picnic at the Mill – Waltham Windmill, Grimsby (Saturday 4 June)

More events are expected to be announced within the coming days – stay tuned for updates!
