Opening date announced for Scartho Aldi

Aldi is set to open its newest store in Scartho in a few days with a gold medal winner attending the store opening.

Executives have set the date of June 9 at 8 am when locals, 40 staff, and Paralympic rowing champion, Grace Clough, will see the store open.

The new store will be run by store manager Gary Archer, along with a team of 25 colleagues from the local community.

The store will also help local food banks and charities who have been urged to contact Aldi to get support with food.

Local charities that register will be able to collect surplus food and perishable products, such as fruit, vegetables, and baked goods, up to seven days a week.

Aldi has recruited a deputy store manager and 11 store assistants for the Scartho Top store.

Councillors said a new road needed to be built to relieve the anticipated congestion.

There is also a large car park on the site, with it being the only shop on the housing estate.

Approval has also been given for a further 850 new homes on Scartho Top.

As part of Aldi’s investment in local communities across the UK, the new store will offer more customers access to Aldi’s low-price products.

The firm was named the cheapest supermarket for 2021 by consumer champion.

Grace will also give away complimentary bags of fresh fruit and vegetables from Aldi’s famous Super 6 range to the first 30 customers in the queue.

This follows Aldi’s existing sponsorship of Team GB, where they have supported Great Britain’s Olympic team and athletes since 2015.

Aldi will be supporting ParalympicGB athletes to success by providing all athletes with monthly food vouchers ahead of the Olympics in Paris in 2024.
