Driver sadly pronounced dead after fatal collision

A man has died following a collision on Moody Lane, Grimsby yesterday morning, Thursday 12th May.

Humberside Police were called to reports of a lorry colliding with a tree after veering off the road.

The collision happened around 11 am and traffic was diverted, with emergency services vehicles being seen on location.

Sadly, the man died at the hospital a short time after the collision.

Humberside Police are appealing for information or witnesses to get in touch.

“We were called shortly before 11 am with reports that a lorry had left the road and collided with a tree.

“Emergency services attended however a man was sadly pronounced deceased at the hospital a short time later.

“We are appealing to any witnesses or anyone who has dashcam footage from driving in the area at the time to get in touch.”

At the time, Humberside Police wrote in their statement:

“Road closures are currently in place in the Moody Lane area of Grimsby following reports that a lorry had collided with a tree shortly before 11 am today, Thursday 12 May.

“Emergency services attended and one man is being treated for injuries, the extent of which is not currently known.

“Motorists are advised to avoid the area where possible.”

It is reported that a lorry has collided with a tree at the entrance to the plant.

An emergency fast responder, a paramedic in a fast response car, two ambulances, and an air ambulance attended the incident which happened at around 10.50 am today.
