MS3 to expand full-fibre broadband regionally
MS3 Networks is widening its reach across the Humber, as almost 100,000 homes and businesses are to be given access to the Hessle firm’s full fibre network.
Speeds of up to one gigabyte are being promised, being described as future-proof.
Consumers will have packages supplied through several internet service providers.
The first homes are due to be connected in August.
MS3 was invested in by Asterion partners late last year.
The extension of the Hull Network was already being brought forward when the deal was completed, now with more than 500,000 homes now the target.
Sam Hales, sales and marketing director at MS3 Networks, said: “We are extremely excited to be rolling out our ultrafast fibre network in Scunthorpe, Grimsby, and Cleethorpes, the first cluster of many towns outside of Hull that we will build across the North of England as we build out our network.
“We firmly believe that our full fibre network will bring significant benefits to the local economy and are confident that our ultrafast services will support residents in many aspects of their lives including work, education, and socially.”
MS3, which launched in 2012, uses the higher bandwidth XGSPON, which is an updated standard for passive optical networks.
It is reported that existing Openreach infrastructure will be used as part of the build, which should keep excavation to a minimum.
KCom added villages and market towns in North Lincolnshire as part of the £100 million widening of its geographic footprint from the Hull region, with a second phase close to an announcement.
MS3 has just added specialist TV, gaming, and broadband provider Zybre to its network.
