Humberside Police respond to speeding concerns along Lloyds Avenue
Humberside Police have responded to concerns regarding speeding cars along Lloyds Avenue.
Yesterday, the force took to social media to issue a response for concerned locals, following numerous reports of speeding vehicles along Lloyds Avenue, Scunthorpe.
“Following concerns from local residents about speeding cars along Lloyds Avenue in Scunthorpe, officers from the local NPT, Roads Policing Unit, Patrol and the Special Constabulary have been conducting speed checks”, Humberside Police said.
“A number of drivers were spoken to and one was issued with a Traffic Offence Report (TOR) for driving at 43mph in the 30mph limit”, they added.
“We will continue to take positive action against drivers and work with our partners to help keep our communities safe”
Residents were quick to respond with their feelings, one stating the police should retain attention towards the Crosby area, describing it as a “nightmare”
“I’ve said this before, but Ferry Road West needs to be monitored! Someone will get killed eventually”, another added.
Among the replies listing additional areas of concern, one local argued:
“We need more ANPR equipment in Scunny that is for certain”
