Shop local as new Barton-upon-Humber market launches this weekend!
The council continues their shop local mission as a new Barton-upon-Humber market is set to launch this weekend.
The North Lincolnshire council said people will be able to purchase mouth-watering food and beautiful handmade gifts at the market this weekend.
The market will take place from 8:30am to 2pm on the first Saturday of every month across the Market place and George Street, the council added.
Market visitors will be able to shop from a range of local stallholders selling everything from sweet treats and baked goods to amazing home décor.
Additionally, customers can expect to see stores selling soaps, candles, copper ware, a variety of crafts and much more!
The North Lincolnshire council said the new market forms part of the shop local initiative, a campaign which encourages and supports the hard-working local retailers and enriches the North Lincolnshire economy.
Cllr Carl Sherwood, cabinet member for safer, stronger communities: rural, said:
“I know many residents will be as thrilled as I am to see a brand-new monthly market open in Barton-upon-Humber”
“As the crowds that flocked to the FoodFest in March showed, there is a real appetite for locally sourced, quality products in North Lincolnshire”, Carl added.
“I’d call on local people to shop local and support the stallholders and businesses on our doorstep – they are the lifeblood of our economy and take enormous pride, not just in their wonderful products, but in their customer service too”
Ward councillors, Keith Vickers, Paul Vickers and Jonathan Evison, stated:
“The weather is looking great for Saturday which will make for a great market and atmosphere”
“We are delighted Barton will once again be holding a monthly market. We are sure residents will be out in force to support the market and our local businesses”, they added.
“We look forward to seeing you there”
