By Traffic chaos at Tollbar roundabout
Roadworks have caused chaos for motorists in the area, something locals are no stranger to.
Motorists in the New Waltham rea are stuck with long delays and traffic at the Tollbar roundabout.
According to reports, there is traffic in both directions of the A16 road, the roundabout being a notorious location for such.
The issues have also affected the B1219 Station Road.
Allegedly the traffic is worst on the A16, up to Peaks Parkway and Holton Le Clay also.
Inrix said “Queuing traffic on A16 Louth Road in both directions around”.
Plans to change the roundabout were reportedly scrapped back in 2019.
It is reported the new roadworks in the area are the cause of today’s problems.
As said before, locals are no strangers to roadworks around the area, especially the controversial works on the A180, which has seen a 40MPH limit enforced, despite no work in the daytime.
There have been several housing developments in the area also, so it wouldn’t be a stretch to suggest an increased usage of the area also.
With many new builds and projects coming to the area, it’s worth pondering whether the area’s infrastructure is up to the task of handling increased road usage.
