Library events to celebrate World Autism Acceptance week
Local libraries are set to host pop-up events to celebrate World Autism Acceptance week.
This year, the celebration lands on 28 March, lasting until 3 April.
North East Lincolnshire Council have announced libraries in Grimsby, Cleethopres, Waltham and Immingham will host events to mark the occasion.
During the announcement, the council said there will a number of “exciting” events for children and their families, and professionals to enjoy.
Additionally, the council said they have “secured a number of places for the National Autistic Societies Autism in Girls Training”
They added that they are challenging 60 parent carers and professionals to sign up for the training program which will mark the campaigns 60 Anniversary.
The training course will be held online, lasting for 2 hours.
All events hosted during the library pop-ups will begin at 9:30am – 11:30am
- Cleethorpes Library. Monday 28 March
- Waltham Library. Tuesday 29 March
- Grimsby Library. Wednesday 30 March
- Immingham Library. Thursday 31 March
Each event will offer a range of useful and engaging books for children, parents and professionals.
At the event, attendees will be able to meet the team hosting the pop-up celebration to ask questions and provide feedback on their experience.
