Community rallies in search of missing rescue dog

The Immingham community has rallied together once more in search of a dog who recently went missing.

George is a nervous rescue dog who took off when he got spooked by another dog whilst out on a walk at Immingham Golf Course.

Following a desperate search by his owner, a Facebook group was created in a bid to widen the search and bring George home.

The Facebook group ‘Help find George in Immingham‘ has gained over 300 members with many local residents conducting their own searches and sharing advice on how they might be able to get George home safe and sound.

Since the start of the week, many locals have taken turns searching the area in an attempt to bring George home.

Another separate Facebook group, Charlie’s Angels Lost Pets Grimsby and Cleethorpes, has also been sharing updates on the search.

The group made specifically to find lost pets has over 4,000 members, increasing the search even further.

Sharing her appreciation, George’s owner Summer said: “We just wanted to say thank you to everyone we have seen out looking for him we appreciate it so much!”

Although no sightings have been made so far, equipment has been set up to monitor certain areas where he might be.

As George is a nervous dog people are asked not to chase or shout at him if they do spot him.

Instead, they should calmly follow to see where he goes to take pictures so Summer and the rest of the search party can be made aware.

Anyone with any information can contact Summer on 07485044474.
