Assault and attempted robbery on Rutland Street
Officers from Humberside Police are currently seeking witnesses to a reported assault and attempted robery down Rutland Street in Grimsby.
According to reports, on Tuesday 15 February at roughly 5:30 pm a man was approached by three men and a woman on the junction of Duke Street and Rutland Street.
The woman reportdely punched the lone man, causing injuries to his face.
Two of the three men then approached the victim, attempting to take his watch but they left empty handed before fleeing down Rutland Street.
Now, officers are seeking witnesses to the alleged assault and attempted robbery.
A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: “We are appealing for witnesses to a reported assault and attempted robbery at the junction of Duke Street and Rutland Street in Grimsby on Tuesday 15 February at around 5.30pm.
“A man was approached by three men and a woman as he crossed the road, the woman is reported to have punched the victim, causing injuries to his face.
“Two of the men then approached the victim again and attempted to pull the watch from his wrist, causing damage to the strap. The men left empty handed and fled along Rutland Street.
