Scunthorpe man caught in paedophile sting operation
A Scunthorpe man has admitted asking underage girls for sex after he was caught by a paedophile hunter group.
The 60-year-old was caught and identified in a sting operation launched by the ‘Newcastle Hunters’.
The man is said to have been exchanging explicit messages to minors including what he believed to be 13-year-old girl.
Newcastle Hunters confronted the man via a live Facebook video, asking him a series of questions.
He then admitted to his role in the offence.
In the video, the suspect admits to sending sexually explicit messages to three underage girls. He said: “it was silly and I shouldn’t have done it”
He added that although he wanted to meet the girl and has a ‘fascination’ with underage girls, he has never met a child in person for intercourse.
The man was arrested shortly after the video went live, according to reports.
Humberside Police have yet to issue a statement.
