Tributes paid to Grimsby student who died aged 20

A wave of tributes have been paid to a Grimsby student who died aged just 20 years old.

The university student was sadly found dead at his home in Lincoln on Friday 7 January.

Sean Darwood was reportedly a second-year student who was working towards a business degree at the University of Lincoln.

He previously studied at Franklin College in Grimsby.

According to reports, the Grimsby student was admitted into hospital with rheumatic fever and discharged only days prior to his passing.

He was found at his home by his friends who tried to revive him to no avail.

A fundraiser is now raising money in order to give Sean a proper funeral.

Jay Hilton, 22, is aiming to raise £10,000, but they have already reached an impressive £9,050 at the time of this writing.

The fundraiser appeal reads: “We’re raising money to provide Sean with the send-off and respect he deserves after Sean Darwood passed away in his sleep on Friday the 7th of January 2022.

“Sean was a brother, a son, and an amazing human being.

“Sean had ambition and was always at the heart of people’s happiness.

“I can never remember a moment when Sean wasn’t smiling.

“We are all going to miss him dearly, but we know he is now at peace.

“I recently remember Sean telling me he was the happiest he had ever been and at this point in life, he had his resolve.

“Rest in peace always, Sean Darwood, I love you forever.”

Donations to the fundraiser can be made here.

Our thoughts and condolences are with Sean’s loved ones during this sad time.
