Lia Nici fails to answer claims that she ‘isn’t visible’ to her constituents
As more and more MPs speak out about Downing Street parties, both defending or accusing the Prime Minister of breaking rules, we asked for your opinions about your local MPs.
For the Grimsby MP Lia Nici the most common thought was that she “isn’t visible” to her constituents and that she does not represent what the Grimsby people stand for.
She recently told the Commons that she had been “out and about” talking to her costituents who are “sick and tired” of hearing about partygate.
However, many locals do not feel that this is the case, stating that they have neither seen or heard from Ms Nici in months.
One resident wrote on Twitter: “I just heard Lia Nici MP for Grimsby saying in the Commons, that she has been out and about in Grimsby and her constituents have told her they support Boris. That is NOT my experience going out and about in the town. Most people regard her as the Hide & Seek Champion of Grimsby.”
Another local told Gi Media that he lost both his mother and father days apart due to Covid whilst the PM was holding parties at Downing Street.
He went on to say that he had contacted Lia Nici twice with his story, asking for it to be relayed in the House of Commons but to this day has not received a reply from the MP.
Based on the views of her constituents, we asked the Grimsby MP the following questions:
- How do you feel about the recent poll results which suggest that you may lose your seat as Grimsby’s Conservative MP in the next election?
- How do you answer to claims that you aren’t visible enough to your constituents?
- What is your response to claims that you do not vote with your constituents in mind?
- Do you feel like you have served Grimsby well as an MP?
We also asked her whether or not the Prime Minister still has her support following the recent controversies and investigations into the Downing Street parties.
Despite these numerous attempts, Lia Nici has not issued any responses to Gi Media, despite making recent appearances in the House of Commons and on the radio, defending the Prime Minister.
