Major junction closed after lorry overturns

The slip road at Brocklesby Interchange on the A180 is closed following a road traffic incident which occured at around 4.20am this morning.

According to witnesses, an overturned truck has resulted in a large diesel spill, which is currently blocking access to the slip road.

The incident is impacting traffic travelling westbound. There is currently no access to the A160 via the A180.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area.

Humberside Police said: “Please be aware the exit slip road at Brocklesby Interchange on the A180 is closed due to a road traffic collision.

“Please avoid this area at this time whilst emergency services deal with this incident.”

A National Highways spokesperson added: “A180 at Brocklesby Interchange with A160 Immingham overturned lorry + large diesel spill on roundabout. West exit to roundabout closed.

“For A160 continue to M180 J1, exit & return. Traffic from A160 for A180 west divert via A180 east to A1173 junction, exit & join A180 west.”
