Two men arrested for drug driving and money laundering

Two men have been arrested after being stopped by police on suspicion of drug driving on the M180.

Yesterday evening (17 January), officers from Humberside Police stopped a vechicle on the M180 at junction 5 fo Barnetby Top.

The driver, 23, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs while the passenger, 24, was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence.

As officers searched the vehicle where they found and seized a quantity of cash. Both the driver and passenger were further arrested on suspicion of money laundering.

The 24-year-old passenger was listed as wanted by another force area for other unnamed offenses.

Both men are currently in custody.

Humberside Police said: “Two men were arrested by our roads policing unit following a vehicle stop on the M180 at junction 5 for Barnetby Top yesterday evening (Monday 17 January).

“The driver, a 23-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and the passenger, a 24-year-old man, on suspicion of a public order offence.

“Upon searching the car, a quantity of cash was also seized, and the pair were further arrested on suspicion of money laundering. The 24-year-old man was listed as wanted in another force area, so we will be working closely with them to investigate all suspected offences.

“The men remain in our custody at this time.”
