Kirton Lindsey Market Place to receive new one-way system
Improvements are planned for Kirton in Lindsey’s Market Place in the following weeks as a new one-way system is due to be put in place on George Street and High Street.
The works should be completed by the end of January and aims to improve traffic flow and road safety.
According to North Lincolnshire Council, George Street will now be one-way, heading north from the junction with the Market Place up to the junction with King Edward Street.
High Street will also be one-way, heading west from the junction with Sylvester Street up to the junction with the Market Place.
The new layout will reportedly be monitored for a period of 18 months to decide how effective it is for the public.
Cllr Rob Waltham, leader of North Lincolnshire Council, said: “We have been working closely with Kirton in Lindsey Town Council and the Regeneration Group on the plans to implement a one-way system in the Market Place.
“Keeping residents safe and well is a key priority for us, and it is hoped the new traffic management will help traffic flow better through the Market Place and improve the experience for people visiting this wonderful Wolds town.”
