Two men kidnap stranger following robbery
Two men have been charged with kidnapping a stranger following a robbery in Scunthorpe which took place in December 2021.
On Wednesday 22 December 2021, several men entered a business on High Street in Scunthorpe with the intention of committing multiple crimes.
The staff were threatened with a weapon before been robbed of their cash, Humberside Police reported.
They then proceeded to hijack a stranger’s vehicle and forced the motorist to drive away from the scene of the crime.
Daniel Nicklin, 31, and Josh Pougher, 30, both from Hull, were charged with robbery and two counts of kidnapping by Humberside Police.
Pougher was also reportedly charged with being in possession of an offensive weapon.
Meanwhile, Nicklin was charged with robbery and fraud with regard to another incident involving a 78-year-old victim.
The elderly man was robbed in his home in Leeds in May 2021.
A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: “Two men have been charged and remanded in connection with a robbery at a business in Scunthorpe last month.
“Daniel Nicklin, 31, of Taunton Road, Hull, and Josh Pougher, 30, of Hessle Road, Hull, were each charged with robbery and two counts of kidnap in connection with the incident.
“Pougher was also charged with being in possession of an offensive weapon in connection with the same incident.
“It was reported that on Wednesday 22 December 2021 a group of men entered a business on High Street, Scunthorpe and threatened staff with a weapon before stealing cash.
“The men then allegedly got into a stranger’s car and forced them to drive them out of the area.
“Nicklin has also been charged with robbery and fraud in relation to an incident where a 78-year-old man was robbed in his home in Seacroft, Leeds, on 26 May.”
