Council provides local foster carers with discounts this Christmas
North Lincolnshire Council have been offering foster carers discounts to a variety of local tourist attractions and venues in order to give their children the best Christmas possible this year.
Foster carers in the area can be as young as 21 years old, but they all could benefit from the council’s help, whether fostering long term or short term.
According to the council, families will now be able to spend days out at the zoo, the trampoline park, the museum and many more locations.
Cllr Julie Reed, cabinet member for children and families, told the council: “With schools out and this week and the Christmas holidays upon us, we are excited to offer fostering households discounted entry and passes to a range of fantastic venues.
“We are passionately committed to ensuring all our children receive the best possible start in life and value each foster carer who helps make a life-changing impact.
“Christmas is such an important time for children and a wonderful way for fostering households to connect.
“We hope these activities provide further opportunity to build confidence, discover new skills and build relationships.”
The council supports all local foster carers with the help of their partners and businesses.
The discounts and passes will reportedly be available for households all year round.
