NHS trust ask for loaned equipment back
NHS Northern Lincolnshire and Goole trust are asking past patients to return any loaned equipment.
The NHS trust lends out thousands of pieces of equipment each year, from walking sticks and frames to grabbers, bath hoists, shower chairs and commodes.
Any equipment borrowed from hospitals in Scunthorpe, Grimsby or Goole, or that has been loaned from one of the Trust’s community teams to assist you at home are now asked to be returned.
Iona Johnson, Assistant General Manager for Community and Therapies, said: “These pieces of equipment are aids for daily living which make a real difference to our patients’ lives; supporting people maintain their independence and remain safe and well in the community.”
“I’d urge people to have a look around their homes, in their spare rooms, garages and cupboards for any equipment they might have leftover from a time when they had contact with our services and drop it off to us if you find anything. The sooner we get it back, the sooner another patient can benefit from its use.”
All items returned will be fully sterilised and cleaned before being loaned out to other patients and can either be dropped off at one of the Trust’s stores or collections can be arranged for larger items:
