Humberside Police have released that a motorcyclist is currently in critical condition following a collision yesterday evening (26 August) on the Humber Bridge.

The crash occurred at 5:30pm yesterday evening on the southbound carriageway close to the toll booths.

Severe traffic disruption lasted through the night and into early this morning and it is still unknown how many have been injured in the incident.

Whilst travelling along the southbound across the Humber Bridge, a Suzuki Bandit motorbike collided with a Ford Focus Estate.

The motorcyclist was taken to hospital for life-threatening injuries and remains in critical condition.

The bridge reopened at 3am this morning after motorists were stuck on the bridge for eight hours, with some even deciding to abandon their vehicles and walk across the bridge.

Police had urged the public to avoid the area where possible whilst the incident was on going.

A spokesperson for Humberside police said: “We are now appealing for anyone who was in the vicinity with dashcam footage, or who was travelling along the A15, Humber Bridge at the time of the collision, or moments prior, and saw the collision to call us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 369 of 26 August.”
