Humberside Fire and Rescue annual report
In the last 3 days alone, Humberside Fire and Rescue have attended 60 incidents across the region.
Incident Breakdown:
Primary fire – 6
Secondary or Chimney Fire – 18
Special Service – 15
Road Traffic Collision – 1
Emergency First Responder – 14
Falls Team – 6
Humberside firefighters latest report highlights how the force has been called out to dozens of prank calls over the last year.
Crews across northern Lincolnshire, Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire had their time wasted by 81 malicious false alarms over 2020/21.

The report also raises the importance of smoke alarms stating: “You are four times more likely to die in a fire at home if you haven’t got a working smoke alarm and escape plan.
“For this very reason we invest a large amount of our resources in ensuring residents have a working smoke alarm and an escape plan.
“During 2020/21 we found that 83% (285) homes having had an accidental dwelling fire had a smoke alarm fitted and 77% of the smoke alarms activated during the fire.
“Typical reasons for not activating included missing or defective batteries and the smoke alarms being in a different room to where the fire started.”
