Police appeal for identity of man involved in Freeman Street burglary
Humberside Police are appealing for anyone to come forward who may recognise the man in this CCTV image following a Freeman Street burglary several weeks ago.
On Sunday 2 May at 6:00pm, a burglary occurred at a business premises on Freeman Street, during which a man entered the site during business hours.
The unknown man was able to hide within the premises until it closed, after which he searched the premise and stole several valuable items.
According to police, the suspect stayed inside the premises until the next morning. He is thought to have left through a window at the back of the property at around 9:00am on Monday 3 May.
Although police have conducted “extensive enquiries” in relation to this incident, they have not yet managed to ascertain the identity of the suspect in the CCTV image.
They are urging the public to come forward if they were in the area at the time of the incident, or if they recognise the man in the image.
A Humberside Police spokesperson said: “Can you help us identify the man in these CCTV images?
“Officers investigating a burglary at a business premise on Freeman Street, Grimsby are appealing for help to identify this unknown man.
“It is reported that on Sunday 2 May at 6:00pm an unknown man entered the premises during business hours and hid out of site whilst the premises closed.
“Following closing, it is believed that the man then searched the premise and is thought to have taken several items of value.
“He is then reported to have left through a window at the rear of the building the next morning (Monday 3 May) at approximately 9:00am.
“Whilst extensive enquiries have taken place since the incident, we are now appealing to anyone who may recognise this man, or who believes they were in the area at the time of the incident, to call us on our non-emergency number quoting crime reference 16/46730/21.”
