Man hospitalised following incident on A16
Part of the A16 has been closed for several hours following a crash which caused power cables to fall in the early hours of this morning.
Lincolnshire Police have now confirmed that a man has been taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries after colliding with a pole while trying to avoid hitting a deer.
His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
The road near Fairfield Industrial Estate in Louth is affected both ways from Grimsby Road to Bolingbroke Road, and has resulted in major delays and difficulties for motorists travelling between Grimsby and Louth.
Engineers are currently on the scene attempting to resolve the issue, but the road is expected to remain shut for much of the day.
Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes.
Updates to follow.
