Bargate to operate road closure next month for reconstruction works

Written by Lauren Paul

North East Lincolnshire Council and ENGIE have announced their upcoming plans for highway maintenance on Bargate in Grimsby.

The work will take place between the Westward Ho and Abbey Road junctions.

On Monday 2 August, footway reconstruction and kerb replacements will take place on a small section of the path between the two junctions.

The works should take place from 7:30am to 6pm every day for approximately three weeks, during which one of the lanes will be closed.

On Friday 20 August, another week will also be dedicated to carriageway resurfacing, deeper carriageway reconstruction and road marking reinstatement works.

The road will be closed every night from 7pm until 6am when construction is underway.

Advanced warning signs and a signed diversion route will clearly mark where drivers can go during the scheduled dates, and emergency access will also be in place at all times.

All residents and businesses within the area have been notified and access arrangements have been verified.
