Woman attacked on the A16
A woman was assaulted during an attempted robbery while she was out running along the A16 near Holton le Clay.
At around 2.30am on Thursday 8 April, the victim became aware that she was being followed by multiple people on pushbikes.
The offenders are reported to have knocked the woman down, before kicking and punching her, and attempting to take her phone.
A vehicle soon passed, and the offenders ran off in an unknown direction.
The robbery was unsuccessful, but the victim received injuries to her head and face, and was left distressed.
Lincolnshire Police officers are now appealing to the public for information, in the hope that the driver of the passing vehicle might have dashcam footage, or may have witnessed the incident.
A Lincolnshire Police spokesperson said:
“This was clearly a very frightening ordeal for the victim and will be of concern to the community.
“We would like to be clear that the victim believes this to be an attempted robbery. There is no evidence or suggestion of sexual assault.
“We will investigate meticulously any evidence that comes to light and would like to urge anyone with information to come forward.
“We would specifically like to speak with the driver of the vehicle that passed at the time, causing the offenders to flee.”
Anyone with information which might help the investigation is urged to call Lincolnshire Police on 101 and quote incident number 221 of April 8.
