Bailey said ‘The idea has always been in my head that I want my own business and being in barbering for 6 years working in a variety of shops, it just made sense to open my own.
‘I got into barbering when I was 16. I got an apprenticeship at Paul Gordons, they gave me guidance as well as me teaching myself.
‘The best bit of advice I can give to anyone wanting to go down this career path is watch people in your shop and watch a lot of YouTube videos about different hair styles. Ask people in the industry questions and gain as much knowledge as you can!
98 Barbers will be based at 24 Northampton road, Scunthorpe, next to Outlaw functional fitness.
He continues the name of my business is 98 barbers. 1998 is the year I was born so I thought I’d keep it simple but a name people will remember. I wanted a name that relates to me without it being my name. The logo came from a class graphic designer called Mike jones, he’s done a lot of work for other businesses in Scunthorpe as well as other places all over England, he’s the man for the job anything graphic design related!
‘The shop is appointment based however we will be using online bookings to make it simple and quick for everyone! All you have to do is download the “booksy” app and search “98 barbers” to make an appointment, it’s as simple as that!
