Police incident closes Peaks Parkway

A section of Peaks Parkway in Grimsby is currently closed due to a ‘serious’ incident

Emergency services including Humberside Police are on the scene. A spokesperson for the force tweeted:

“Peaks parkway, Grimsby is currently closed due to an ongoing incident. Between B &Q and Ellis way.

“Please avoid the area. Queues likely.”

Eyewitnesses also reported seeing an air ambulance circling the area at around 1pm.

An ambulance left the scene around 10 minutes later under sirens and lights.

Police are yet to confirm the nature of the incident.

Although traffic is flowing, it is also affecting nearby roads – a traffic notice reads:

“A16 Lincolnshire both ways severe disruption, between B1212 Welholme Road and A1136 Frederick Ward Way.

“A16 Lincolnshire – A16 Peaks Parkway in Grimsby closed and it’s heavy in both directions between the B1212 Welholme Road junction and the A1136 Frederick Ward Way junction, because of a police investigation”.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area.

Humberside Police detectives are on the scene as the investigation continues.
