New growth opportunities for Humberside
The Humber project has received a large backing from the government to increase green spaces in the area.

A project to make Northern Lincolnshire and East Riding greener has received £1.7m of government funding.
The Humber Cluster Plan aims to help the region move towards large scale decarbonisation by helping businesses find long term solutions
The term decarbonisation means the reduction of carbon, the end goal is to create a carbon dioxide free global economy.
The plan will act as a roadmap for the large-scale decarbonisation of the Humber.
The aim is to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2040, potentially making it the first in the world to do so.
Near-term deliverable investments will be prioritised, and mapping out how carbon capture and storage (CCS) and hydrogen infrastructure can be scaled up over time.
Stephen Wheeler, Managing Director of SSE Thermal, said: “We know the Humber has the potential to lead the way in the UK’s transition to net-zero, and it’s crucial that we’re working across the various industries in the region to turn this vision into a reality.”
“In turn will safeguard and create local jobs, and open up new growth opportunities for the region.”
Clusters are groups of inter-related industries that drive wealth creation in a region, primarily through export of goods and services.
The Humber emits more CO2 than any other industrial cluster which is 50% more than the next largest.
