A woman had a necklace stolen from around her neck while in a Grimsby shopping centre.

Police have now released a picture of a person they want to speak to in connection with the incident, which happened in Freshney Place.

The victim is said to have been approached by a woman who asked if she would like to buy a necklace and persuaded her to try it on.

It was only after the woman had removed the necklace and walked away that the victim realised her own necklace had also been removed.

A Humberside Police spokesperson said: “Do you recognise this woman? We want to speak to her in connection with an investigation into reports of a necklace being stolen from a woman in a Grimsby shopping centre.”

If you can help, contact the non-emergency 101 line, quoting incident number 16/83088/20.
