At Milton Keynes Children’s Social Care, we are passionate about supporting our communities and improving the lives of others. We currently have a number of vacancies across our department for dedicated, passionate and professional social workers to join us. We are looking for social workers in our Family Support Teams and MASH which also involves completing assessments. Positions available Level 2 Social Worker, Salary £29,636- £33,799 and Level 3 Social Worker, Salary £34,788-£38,813

Key Duties

  • Full and Part Time Posts are available across different service areas
  • The social worker will carry out the Council’s duties in respect to 1989 Children Act and subsequent legislation, using their professional skills to carry out child centred assessments, in line with the assessment framework, and develop, implement, monitor and review effective care plans and interventions to improve the safety, well-being and development of the child.

Experience, Qualifications and any Mandatory Requirements

  • Social work qualification (DipSW, CQSW, Degree in social work or equivalent)
  • Completed their ASYE

Skills Required

  • Awareness of the legislative framework
  • Proven ability to relate professionally with children and families evidenced through previous work as a Social Worker
  • Able to undertake a range of childcare assessments and formulate care plans
  • Ability to analyse, summarise and write/ record relevant information clearly and concisely so that it is easily understood by users and colleagues
  • Able to manage own work load effectively
  • Flexible and willing to support other staff when need arises.
  • Skills and knowledge in listening to children and adults, in observation and in carrying out assessments of strengths and weaknesses within families
  • Ability to question, challenge, solve problems and complete tasks
