Job Title: Cover Supervisor

Salary: £17,500 – £18,500

Ipswich

Job Start: late November 2020

Would you like to work in a school with a good Ofsted and the support of a Trust?

Would you like to take on a role where you can just focus on teaching?

On behalf of an academy school in Ipswich, Empowering Learning are seeking to recruit a Cover Supervisor. After a short-probation period (until Christmas) this will be a permanent post.

The school has been judged as ‘good’ by Ofsted. Staff at the school are loyal and committed and go ‘above and beyond’ for the pupils and they are acutely aware of the difference they make to the lives of their students.

The role is a full-time position and the school are looking for someone who is capable of covering a range of subjects and classes at both KS3 and KS4. You will not be expected to plan lessons, but will deliver lesson content to pupils and provide sickness cover and PPA/management release for existing teaching staff.

This is a great opportunity for someone with excellent TA/HLTA experience looking to take on a more substantial teaching commitment, an experienced teacher looking to step back from the full demands of being a teacher, or possibly a teacher returning from maternity leave etc. and looking for a role withmore flexibility.

The school are looking for a dynamic individual, who will go that extra mile and be a fully committed member of the school team. The school has a loyal community and the ability to relate well to parents and carers is a necessity.

CPD opportunities at the school are exceptional.

Job Purpose:

  • Motivate, encourage and enthuse pupils
  • To deliver effective teaching in the abscence of the class teacher

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Effective lesson delivery to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Assessment for Learning in lessons and feedback to pupils and teachers
  • Managing the classroom and resources effectively in order to create a safe, stimulating and positive learning environment for all students
  • To maintain positive discipline and promote the well-being and progress of students, providing guidance and advice
  • Developing positive relationships with colleagues, parents and students, maintaining effective lines of communication

The school has a strong ethos of student welfare and therefore any successful applicant will undergo a full enhanced criminal record check (DBS). For more information please contact John Byrne at Empowering Learning Ltd.
