Works to install eight new real time information displays at locations in North East Lincolnshire continue, and are set to be complete by Friday 4 September.

The works initially started on Monday 10 August, on a rolling programme, along Scartho Road and Cromwell Road, Grimsby.

The council had stated that the works would take 10 days to complete, and would be over by Friday 21 August.

However, engineers are alleged to have encountered complications with the existing infrastructure at some of the proposed locations.

The work has therefore been delayed.

Now, North East Lincolnshire Council have apologised for any inconvenience, and say they will now be complete by Friday 4 September.

RTI screens provide bus passengers with the latest journey information, advising on when they can expect their next bus to arrive, with the aim to improve information provided at bus stops and make public transport more accessible.

To avoid disruption to residents and keep the workforce safe, localised traffic management (cones and barriers) will be in place on the footpath whilst works take place.

There will be no impact to the highway network.

Additional RTI screens are being installed at the following locations:

Scartho Road, Grimsby:

  • Bus stop near to Sutcliffe Avenue
  • Bus stop near to St Helens Avenue
  • Bus stop near to Pelham Avenue
  • Bus stop near to Matthew Telford Park
  • Bus stop near to Edge Avenue
  • Bus stop near to Conyers Avenue

Cromwell Road, Grimsby:

  • Bus stop near to Service Road 21
  • Bus stop near to Service Road 25

The project is being managed and overseen by the council’s regeneration partner, ENGIE, with McCann Ltd installing the fixtures, and R2P connecting the screens.
