Scunthorpe Vue set to reopen

Following a long period of closure due to the coronavirus crisis, cinemas nationwide, including the Vue in Scunthorpe, are set to reopen.

The seven-screen cinema has announced that it will reopen its doors to movie fans from Wednesday 26 August.

The cinema has now been closed for more than five months.

But, visitors can expect big changes when visiting Scunthorpe’s Vue reopens.

According to bosses, the venue has been made Covid-safe.

They say that fans “can look forward to enjoying the big screen experience with the reassurance of knowing their safety is front of mind’.

As such, the firm are requesting that visitors utilise the online booking system, to ensure that the experience is as contactless as possible.

Tickets can be accessed on smartphones.

Enhanced cleaning protocols have also been put in place.

Every screen is being sanitised. between screenings, and hand sanitiser stations available throughout venues.

Staff will be equipped with PPE to protect themselves and customers.

Films are being shown at staggered times in order to reduce the number of people in the facility at any one time.

The reopening will see favourites such as the Harry Potter series and all-time classics like Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back screened, as well as new releases.

Discussing the reopening, David Scarsebrook, Manager at Vue Scunthorpe, said:

“We’ve been working hard to ensure our site meets safety protocols in line with the latest government guidance.

“We want film-lovers in surrounding areas to know that the quality of our viewing experience remains unchanged and customers will continue to enjoy the best audio and picture quality in big screen entertainment, especially with the upcoming release of hotly anticipated titles such as Tenet.

“We hope film-fans are excited as us at the return of the big screen where films like this are supposed to be seen.”
