Woman assaulted in Burnham

Thames Valley Police is appealing for specific witnesses after a woman was assaulted in Burnham.

At approximately 8.45pm on Friday 10 July, an altercation occurred outside of The Red Lion public house in High Street, Burnham.

As a result of this incident, a woman in her thirties received a cut to the lip, a black eye and a concussion.  The victim was also knocked unconscious during this altercation and as a result, cannot remember what happened.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to come forward and provide any information that may support their investigation.

Investigating officer PC Karen Churchill, based at Amersham police station, said:

“This was a particularly nasty assault on a female, who lost consciousness as a result and required hospital treatment.  Although she has now been discharged, she is still unable to recall exactly what happened.”

Police believe that several people were at the public house when the altercation took place and believe that these people will have vital information to help the investigation.
