American TV host Adam Richman becomes Grimsby Town shareholder
Man V. Food host Adam Richman has become a Grimsby Town F.C shareholder after a fundraising appeal by the Mariners’ Trust.
Richman developed a soft spot for the mighty Mariners after sitting next to a fan on a flight home from the UK in 2013.
Whilst speaking to the BBC, Adam said:
“He told me the whole story and the story of the town, and it was really compelling to me.
“I began looking it up and I love the plucky underdog. Now that I’ve begun to learn about them and I have heard the song (Sing When We’re Fishing), I am drawn to them, and perhaps because of my role in the food industry, and I am partial to fish.”

In response Richman tweeted:
“I just want to say that it means so much as a fan of the game, to be so thought of by a club with so much history, especially as America is thousands of miles away.
“This is the brother and sisterhood of football at its best.”
