A closure order has been issued on a property in Upper Arncott.
A woman in her twenties had previously been cautioned by the Police for being drunk and disorderly, as well as being in possession of a psychoactive substance within intent to supply (namely small NO2 canisters).
After noisy and disorderly behaviour continued at the property, causing significant disturbance to the local community, Officers applied for a closure order against the house. Gi Media can confirm that on Monday (15/6), that Order was granted.
Neighbourhood Officer PC Matthew Longman said:
“We recognise the impact this behaviour has on the local community. This closure order sends a clear message that this kind of behaviour will not be tolerated.
“We will always seek to tackle anti-social behaviour and use the powers available to us to disrupt those who choose to act in this way.”
This news follows the shutdown of an illegal rave in Oxforshire over the weekend where Police were called Jackdaw Lane, off Iffley Road, at approximately 11.10pm.
Police said ‘a number of people’ had come for the rave and officers attended the event and spoke with those who were in attendance, but ultimately closed down the activity by approximately 2am.
Inspector James Pither based at Oxford Police Station, asked the community for their continued help, as restrictions ease:
“We would ask that if someone becomes aware of an unlicensed music event taking place or information about a planned rave, this should be reported either online or on 101.”
