The Cherwell Boathouse extends punt station hours.
With the weather set at ‘stunning’ for this weekend and next, the iconic Cherwell Boathouse have announced an extension to their punt station business hours for punt, canoe and rowing boats.
On an announcement made on their website, the Boathouse say:
“The punt station is now open and we have expanded the time slots from 11am to 7pm. All punts to be returned by 8.30pm.”
There are some new safety measures in place for all punters:
“We are reducing minimum hire time to one and half hours. Punts still need to be pre-booked so we can control numbers at any one time. We are now into a well rehearsed routine of cleaning down all equipment after use and spraying down punts before use.”
In addition to a punt, guests can also book a gourmet picnic if they give 48 hours notice.
Picnics are available at £15 per person, with a minimum of two people. On offer is gazpacho, smoked salmon, pork rillettes, salads and a strawberry fool. Guests can also select from lagers, ciders, wines, and champagnes.

In addition to the punt station, The Cherwell Boathouse will continue to offer their grocery service, twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Orders are required to be submitted by 2.30pm on Monday, for Wednesday pickup; or 2.30pm Thursday, for collection on Saturday.
