Scunthorpe woman jailed following assault on emergency workers
A Scunthorpe woman has been jailed following an assault on two emergency workers.
Kelly Bartholomew, 33, has been sentenced to 16-weeks in prison following two assaults on police constables.
Bartholomew was arrested on Dunstall Street, Scunthorpe on Tuesday 2 June at around 9.15pm.
Humberside Police received reports that a woman was laying in the middle of the street intoxicated.
On attendance, officers helped the woman up off the ground and she launched at members of the public.
She then swung and hit an officer’s face.
She was subsequently taken into custody where she assaulted another officer as they tried to search her.
Bartholomew was questioned and later charged with offences relating to assault.
Kelly Bartholomew appeared at Grimsby Magistrates Court on Thursday 4 June.
She pleaded guilty to the two charges and immediately received a sentence of 16-weeks imprisonment.
