Hull woman killed in fatal collision

A 25-year-old Hull woman has been killed in a fatal collision on the A1079, Humberside Police have reported.

Yesterday at around 10:30am, it was reported that a car had collided with a tree on the A1079 York Road near Bishop Burton.

The woman was the passenger in a silver VW Bora which was towing a trailer when it left the road and collided with a tree.

Police closed the road for around four miles from Kinllingwoldgraves roundabout to Cherry Burton and Market Weighton.

The driver, a man in his 20s, has sustained serious and potentially life-changing injuries in the collision.

He remains in hospital for treatment.

Her family are being supported by specially trained officers.

Humberside Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen the vehicle prior to the collision or that has dash cam footage from around the time of the incident to contact us on our non-emergency number 101.  Please quote log 177 7 June 2020.

Speaking yesterday, after a Hull woman was killed in a fatal collision, a spokesperson for the force said:

“The collision this morning involved one car carrying two people.

“A woman, aged 25, has died. A male who was in the car has been taken to hospital to receive treatment for serious injuries.

“The woman’s family is being supported by police.”
