By Hundreds gather at popular local beauty spot
Hundreds of people and bikers were seen gathering at the popular local beauty spot, Willingham Woods, on Sunday.
One witness said she couldn’t believe her eyes, saying that it was busier than the usual sunny weekend.
Others recalled their astonishment as hundreds of people and motorcyclists gathered at the woodland area in Northern Lincolnshire.
This comes as Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that Covid-19 lockdown measures would be eased somewhat, allowing people to engage in unlimited outdoor exercise.
It was also stated that people are now permitted to drive in order to reach exercise destinations.
Bikers were pictured close together, while the car park was packed full of vehicles.
In its most recent guidance on visiting public places, the Government said:
“You can exercise outside as often as you wish and you can also sit and rest outside – exercise or recreation can be alone, with members of your household, or with one other person from outside your household, while keeping two metres apart at all times.
“You may drive to outdoor publicly accessible open spaces irrespective of distance, but should follow social distancing guidance whilst you are there.”
Public gatherings of more than two people are still prohibited by law.
