Police find cannabis factory on Riby Square
Officers for Humberside Police have discovered a cannabis factory in a flat hidden behind billboards at the junction of Riby Square, Grimsby.
The property and a section of the pavement have now been cordoned off after hundreds of cannabis plants were found in a flat hidden behind advertising billboards.
As part of a major police operation, Humberside Police have been in attendance at the property since Wednesday morning.
The flat is located at the junction of Freeman Street.
Officers have been seen removing evidence from the building and it is understood that they will remain there for most of the day.
It is not yet known if anyone has been arrested.
A witness at the scene said:
“It looks like they have been inside some first flats at the corner of Riby Square and they have taped off the footpath outside it.
“I have heard that they found a cannabis grow and they have been taking it apart.
“It is a strange place to have one, but then I didn’t even know that there was an apartment there.”
