Body found at Lincoln quarry

The body of a man has been found at a Lincoln quarry, Police have now revealed.

A number of officers were deployed to the quarry site close to the Carlton Centre just after 4pm yesterday, Wednesday, May 6.

An ambulance was also sent to the scene.

The force revealed yesterday that officers were sent to the quarry after a receiving a report of a concern for safety for a man.

They have subsequently said that a 49-year-old man was found dead at the scene, adding that there are believed to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death, although the cause is currently unknown.

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said:

“Officers attended the Quarry, Greetwell Road, Lincoln yesterday at around 4.10 pm.  

“They found the body of a man, aged 49, who was pronounced dead at the scene. 

“There are no suspicious circumstances and a file will be passed to the coroner.”
