By ‘Thank you NHS’ road marking installed in Grimsby
A ‘thank you NHS’ road marking has been installed at the entrance to Diana Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby.
North East Lincolnshire Council and its regeneration partner, ENGIE, are showing their appreciation for local NHS services by painting their thanks on the entrance to the hospital.
As of today, staff at the hospital will be greeted with the new road marking thanking them and showing the whole of North East Lincolnshire’s thanks and appreciation for their work.
The council and ENGIE, who has funded the cost of the message, are joining local authorities across the UK in showing their appreciation for NHS staff during this time, with the prominent message in the main entrance.
Jug Johal, director of estates and facilities at Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust, said:
“Our local community have been fantastic in showing their support for our staff throughout the pandemic.
“We are so grateful to the council for taking the time to put this road marking down outside the hospital.
“It will be a real morale boost for our staff every time they drive in and out of the site, on their way to and from work.”
Councillor Stewart Swinburn, portfolio holder for environment and transport at NELC, said:
“The NHS, alongside all key workers, emergency services and volunteers, are doing an amazing job and I’m sure the whole of North East Lincolnshire will join me in thanking them.
“It’s important they know how much they are appreciated for the tireless work they are doing throughout this pandemic.
“I hope that by installing this ‘thank you’ message, we can lift the spirits of staff going to and from their vital work.”
