Police seek key witness to collision in Cricklade Road
Wiltshire Police are seeking to identify a key witness to a collision in Cricklade Road, Swindon.
Officers are investigating a road traffic collision, and are urgently trying to identify a witness to the incident.
At approximately 7.20pm on April 25, a black Honda Civic and a blue BMW were involved in a collision in Cricklade Road at the junction with Beatrice Street.
Extensive damage was caused to the Honda Civic.
The driver of the BMW continued on towards the Transfer Bridges before all three occupants decamped and ran off towards Tesco.
Officers attended the area and conducted enquiries.
A man in his 20s from Swindon was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and failing to stop after a road accident.
He has been interviewed and released under investigation while enquiries continue.
PC Craig Beales, who is investigating the incident, said:
“We believe at the time of the incident there was a man stood outside Tennessee Chicken on Cricklade Road – he was driving a white van, possibly a Vauxhall Vivaro, with a blue rear door on the left hand side. We believe he witnessed the collision and could significantly help our enquiries.
“If you believe this was you, or you know who it may be, please get in touch. Even if you do not think you are able to help, we would like to speak to you so we can complete our investigation.
“As well as this, we’d also like to hear from anyone who was in the area, including anyone who may have CCTV or dash cam footage.”
