Criminal who attempted to murder a man in a Grimsby park is jailed again

A serial criminal from Grimsby has been jailed again, after serving a sentence for the attempted murder of another man in a local park.

He has now been imprisoned for drugs conspiracy.

Court witnesses have said how Rod Woolliss, 28, of Mendip Avenue, Grimsby “gloated” about the crossbow shooting after he got into an argument with the man and it got “out of hand”.

The victim narrowly escaped death when, after being knocked unconscious during a fight in a park in Grimsby, Woolliss fired the  crossbow into his cheek.

Rolanda Gedminas, 27, who is originally from Lithuania, was taken to hospital with the eight-inch bolt sticking out of the side of his head.

It was subsequently removed by surgeons, and the man is thought to have recovered.

On December 2013, Woolliss admitted to attempted murder, violent disorder and attempted grievous bodily harm, and was jailed for 10 years.

Now, Rod Woolliss has been jailed again, after he appeared at Grimsby Crown Court, admitting to conspiracy to supply heroin and crack cocaine between December last year and February this year.
Heroin valued at £14,800 and cocaine worth £105 were found at the home of an accomplice.
Woolliss had convictions for 18 previous offences. He has now been jailed for a further four years.
