By Staffline donates Easter eggs to Grimsby’s NSPCC Centre
In a show of support during these difficult times, recruitment company Staffline have donated 120 Easter eggs to children who access help via Grimsby’s NSPCC service centre.
The NSPCC is a leading children’s charity fighting to end child abuse. They are supported primarily by voluntary donations.
The charity help children who have been abused to rebuild their lives, and protects children at risk by intervening early on, and preventing child abuse from ever happening.
The eggs were distributed by the ‘Together for Childhood’ team, to vulnerable children within the community, putting plenty of smiles on faces ahead of the Easter weekend.
‘Together for Childhood’ is made up of multiple agencies including the NSPCC, North East Lincolnshire Council, the police, Children’s Public Health and community groups, who have come together to ensure local families get the help they need at the right time, and working to prevent neglect and abuse at the earliest stages.
Staffline who named the NSPCC as their chosen charity over a year ago. Over the Christmas period, Staffline also donated presents to children supported by the charity.
Sarah Taylor, People Director at Staffline, said:
“We chose the NSPCC because we truly believe that every child should have a chance to have the best childhood they possibly can. We employee circa 40,000 workers and 1,000 permanent employees, many of whom have families, so the NSPCC is a charity that our people can really relate to.
“Our people get a real energy from being able to give something back that could directly impact children, so when Easter was around the corner, and having built up some relationships with their local centres, we wanted to continue giving back, and the Easter egg idea was born.
“Part of our charity goals for this year is to better connect with our local community, so the relationships that started last Christmas will very much be a part of our charity strategy going forward.”
Lisa Smith, NSPCC Strategic Service Manager in Grimsby, added:
“Due to the restrictions in place owing to Covid-19, Grimsby Service Centre staff have dramatically changed the way they offer support to vulnerable children and families.
“Responding to family need, they have been helping drop essential food items and practical resources on family doorsteps to keep children busy during this restricted period. Staffline’s donation of Easter Eggs have been well received by families.
“One dad who received essential food, nappies and wipes, along with some Easter Eggs from Staffline, said ‘I am so grateful, I didn’t realise NSPCC would have done this for us, thank you’.”
